THE ORGANIZATION OF THE FACULTY
|
|
For
a more efficient implementation of the mentioned activities, distinct
governing and expert bodies, along with the accompanying services have
been formed within the the Faculty.
The Dean, two Vice-Deans and the
Senate carry out the managing function.
The Secretariat is in charge of administrative and technical tasks.
It is composed of the
General Affairs Office, the
Student Service, and
the Accounting Office. The
Publishing Center, bookstore and Library are separate organizational
units.

Dean and Vice-Deans
|
|
The Dean manages
the work of the Law Faculty. He suggests basic office policies, internal
organization, decides upon students' requests, and on all other matters
which fall within his jurisdiction; he monitors the enforcement of decisions
and conclusions adopted by Faculty bodies, and performs all other duties
envisaged by thelaw, the Faculty Statute and other such regulations.
The Dean is responsible for the realization of educational and academic
activities at the Faculty. Senate elects the Dean from among the Faculty’s
lecture staff, and at the Dean’s proposal, elects two Vice-Deans to
assist him/her in the performance of the aforementioned duties.

Senate
|
|
The Faculty
Senate is the governing body at the Faculty. It is composed of: twelve
representatives which are chosen by the Scholarly and Academic Council
and two representatives which are chosen by the staff, four representatives
from the Student Parliament and four representatives which are chosen
by the Faculty's founder – the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of
Vojvodina. The Faculty Senate decides upon the use of Faculty resources,
adopts a yearly work program, adopts a financial plan, an employment
report and a budgetary statement; it appoints and dismisses the Dean
and Vice-Dean of the Faculty, it enacts the Faculty statute and undertakes
other such tasks which are provided by the statute of the Faculty.

Scholarly and Academic Council
|
| The Scholarly and Academic
Council is composed of ten professors, heads of the departments, and seven
professors and five assistants of the Faculty elected by their peers.
The Dean chairs the sessions of the Council. The Scholarly and Academic
Council creates a curriculum and syllabi for basic, specialized, master’s,
and doctoral studies, it decides upon a program for academic research
and projects conducted by the Faculty, it confirms measures for the encouragement
of development of notably successful and gifted students, and decides
upon academic and scholarly cooperation of the Faculty with institutions
both within the country and abroad. |

Departments
|
|
Within the
academic and scholarly activities of the Faculty there are 28 full professors,
6 associate professors, 8 assistant professors, and 11 assistants who
are spread out among 10 departments. A department is composed of one
or more related subjects. The Faculty contains the following departments:
the Department of Civil , Commercial and Criminal Law and Criminology,
the Department of Criminal Procedure, the Department of History of State
and Law, the Department of Public Law, the Department of Labor and WelfareLaw,
the Department of International Law and International Relations, and
the Department of Economics. Each department has a head, a secretary,
and a council.

The Secretariat
|
|
The Secretariat
performs administrative and technical tasks at the Faculty. The Secretary
of the Law Faculty runs the Secretariat. He/she represents the Faculty
in affairs which are conferred unto him/her by the Dean, drafts proposals
for enactment, oversees the implementation of decisions given by Faculty
bodies, directly coordinates the work of professional and technical
services which belong to the Secretariat, and takes on other such tasks
decided upon by the Dean.

Student Services
|
|
Student Services
are in charge of all affairs having to do with the enrollment and dismissal
of students, they prepare a course and exercise schedule, they verify
semester and year attendance, receive and process registration applications
for examinations, keep record of examination results, prepare certificates
and official transcripts within their authority, process documentation
for the issuing of the diplomas on the undergraduate and post-graduate
levels, and undertake similar affairs on the request of the Dean.
